Smart boards: Advantages and Disadvantages

Smart boards are like digital whiteboards that are connected to a computer, which the computer image is projected on the whiteboard screen.
Advantages:
  1. can be used by children of all ages
  2. can be used by children with disabilites
  3. promotes interactive learning
  4. promotes group collaboration
  5. helps teachers enhance there lessons by using interactive multi-media
Disadvantages:
  1. Very expensive
  2. teachers use the smart board as a substitute for a whiteboard 
  3. teachers aren't getting training on how to use the smartboards
  4. can distract students
